CSOA La Strada has been a squatted and self-managed social center since 1994. It was established when a group of students occupied a vacant building and transformed it into a place for the community.
La Strada offers many initiatives, bringing together people of all ages. These include dance events for the elderly, workshops for children, theatre and music performances, film screenings, solidarity projects, free legal assistance and many other activities. The center stands for anti-fascist, anti-racist and anti-sexist values, opposing all forms of discrimination. Its values are rooted in the legacy of the 1970s Italian Resistance to Nazism. La Strada has expanded its activities through the creation of Le CaSette, a new squat through which abandoned housing was occupied and renovated to provide homes for those in need. The project continues to develop through the implementation of more sustainable housing solutions, such as the use of renewable energy and recycling systems.
